Over A Century of Caring
104 years ago in 1921, Martin Johanson saw long lines at a Pioneer Square soup kitchen and imagined a better way to support people with dignity. He created a program where individuals could earn their meals through meaningful work—an idea that became the Millionair Club Charity. Now known as Uplift Northwest, this legacy continues in Seattle’s Belltown, providing jobs, stability, and hope. For more than a century, Uplift Northwest has remained one of Seattle’s most trusted pathways to opportunity. The organization continues a legacy of innovative solutions to poverty and homelessness.

2025 Winter Coat Drive
Thank you for helping keep our community warm, dry and well cared for!
We put out the call for Winter Coats and the community responded in a huge way! We are so grateful for all the donations of new and gently loved coast and winter gear. Uplift program participants will receive the opportunity to shop for a coat a special holiday reception on before the Christmas holiday.
